Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20 2002) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was first recognized for her leading roles on Disney's television shows Bizaardvark, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in the late 2010 and continues to be a Disney television star in the present. Rodrigo's first single, "Drivers License", was released by Interscope Records and Geffen in 2020. It broke many records and was one of the most-sold songs of 2021. This propelled her to mainstream success. After the singles "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U", Rodrigo released her first solo album Sour (2021), to great commercial and critical success. She was awarded three Grammy Awards. The documentary Olivia Rodrigo - Driving Home 2 U on Disney+, which chronicles her creative process for Sour, was also released in 2022. Rodrigo has been an Billboard Hot 100 Number-One Single and one Billboard 200 Number-One Album, and five multi-Platinum Certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. In addition to other recognitions, she has been awarded an American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named her the 2021 Entertainers' Of The year. Billboard named it Woman of the Year in 2022. [6][9][10] It has been stated by Rodrigo that her great-grandfather's paternal line immigrated from the Philippines to America when he was an adolescent. Her family continues to follow Filipino customs and cuisines. Rodrigo started singing lessons at age six, and soon learned to play piano. She began taking singing and acting classes at the age of six years old and began acting in elementary school's theater productions. Rodrigo was already playing guitar at the age of 12. [12] She was raised listening to alternative rock by her parents including Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Green Day, and the White Stripes.
